My comment:
I've met kaizen when starting to work for japanese company few years ago. Four years after I read the book Quick and Easy Kaizen. I read it twice. The first time I read about 50 pages and then I just went through next 50 and then close the book. Week after I decided to try read again. I read about 120 pages and then went through till page 200 and then close the book.
I think 50 pages book would be enough. But the book has 370 pages, so you read again and again about the same.

This is the book you should have in your lean library. You will meet the fathers of what we know as Toyota Production System.
"Don't seek perfection. Quick not perfect implementation of you idea is much better than wasting huge time by thinking how to do it perfectly."
Such messages you can find in this book.
